Since 2012

I’ve been working in the gas and heating industry for over 27 years, starting my career with British Gas where I spent 20 years building up experience and trust with customers across the region. Working for a large company taught me a lot about professionalism, high standards, and the importance of doing every job properly the first time.

Seven years ago, I decided to take the step into self-employment so I could offer a more personal, flexible service to people in and around Uddingston. Since then, I’ve been running my own gas and heating business, taking care of everything from boiler servicing and repairs to full central heating installations. I take pride in being reliable, straightforward, and easy to deal with — no sales pitches, just honest advice and quality work.

Most of my business comes from repeat customers and word of mouth, which I think says a lot. Whether it’s a quick call-out or a full system upgrade, I treat every job with the same care and attention to detail. If you’re looking for a dependable local engineer who knows the trade inside out, I’m always happy to help.

Our FAQ’s

When Do I Need To Change My Boiler?

The average lifespan of a gas boiler is between 10-15 years, with regular servicing we see boilers reach this age often.  However, at the 10 year mark it is something worth thinking about, with new technology comes more efficient boilers, which in turn, saves you money on your gas bills.

How Often Do I Need To Service My Boiler?

The service interval for Gas Boilers is once every 12 months, we set yearly reminders for all our customers to prevent you voiding any manufacturers warranty and to help keep on top of the servicing needed to keep your boiler in good health.

My Boiler Isn't Running Right, Can It Be Repaired?

There sadly isn’t one answer to this, in most cases things aren’t as bad as they seem and can be repaired, we will always explore every option and allow you to choose, we never go straight to replacement.

Verified and Insured

To be accredited by the best brand in the business is a achievement we are extremely proud of, along side being gas safe registered, we are up to date with all the latest safety standards and regulations.

I found Crombie gas by chance when I needed my boiler replaced and it was a lucky find. David is the most reliable, efficient and skilled gas engineer I have experienced. I have recommend Crombie Gas to family and friends who have also been delighted. David operates with high integrity and only quotes for work that is required and gives competitively priced options.

Great service!
We struggled to find a gas engineer to fix our problems for a couple of months, everyone had issues with parts etc etc. Within hours David came out and fixed all the problems for 10% price quoted by two other engineers. We were very impressed but ultimately David just knows what hes doing.

Brilliant service. Our boiler broke down. Phoned David in the morning and boiler repaired in afternoon. Priced the job for parts and labour before starting. Good price.
The next week we had no hot water. A different problem than before. Again David came out and told us what was wrong. Priced the part and labour and gave us a date for the job. Everything sorted!
